Rudolf-Steiner-School Gröbenzell, a private college near Munich, required an IT platform to enhance communication and collaboration among teachers, parents, and various working groups. During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, the need for a robust remote learning solution became critical.

Rudolf-Steiner-Schule Gröbenzell, located in Gröbenzell, Germany, is a Waldorf school offering holistic education from primary to secondary levels. Emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills, the school integrates academic learning with artistic and practical activities, fostering a well-rounded development for students.

Solution

During an extensive selection process, we voluntarily presented Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams as a viable solution for the school. When the COVID-19 lockdown occurred, we leveraged our participation in the Teams macht Schule initiative to offer our services free of charge.


As part of the Teams macht Schule initiative, aimed at helping primary and high schools across Germany with the onboarding of Microsoft Teams for homeschooling, we provided the following support:


  • Microsoft Teams for Education Onboarding: We set up Microsoft Teams for Education, creating accounts for all teachers and students and organising Teams structures for classes and workspaces for teachers.

  • Device Management with Microsoft Intune: We helped the school implement Microsoft Intune for device management, onboarding their first 25 teacher laptops and providing ongoing technical support.

  • User Training: Conducted training sessions for teachers, focusing on how to use Microsoft Teams for meetings, collaboration, and remote teaching.

"We have worked with Mr. Peter Taras from TarasTech from April 2020 to July 2024. As a result of a productive and, in the most positive sense, sometimes controversial dialogue, two cloud-based digital platforms were implemented at our school. These platforms continue to successfully and effectively organise our digital educational and organisational processes to this day. We use the M365 platform introduced by Mr. Taras specifically for organising all pedagogically relevant distribution lists and licences, sharing files within the faculty and teaching, as well as managing laptops and digital boards. We thank Mr. Taras for contributing his extensive knowledge, the consistently supportive staff training sessions, and for the great work he has done for us!"

Outcome

Our efforts ensured that Rudolf-Steiner-School Gröbenzell could smoothly transition to remote learning and maintain effective communication and collaboration during the pandemic. The Microsoft Teams for Education platform enabled structured digital classrooms, facilitating continuous learning. The implementation of Microsoft Intune improved device management and security, while our training sessions empowered teachers to make the most of the new tools. The voluntary support provided through the Teams macht Schule initiative exemplified our commitment to enhancing education through technology.
