Challenge

concile GmbH sought to modernise and simplify their sales and after-sales support processes using out-of-the-box technologies in Microsoft 365. They relied on various old on-premises systems, including Dynamics 365 Navision ERP, a highly customised Claris FileMaker database app. The existing system hampered productivity, requiring sales staff to dial in via VPN to access customer information and repeatedly enter data across different systems. Upgrading the custom CRM was not viable due to missing features in the cloud version. The customer was concerned that implementing a new CRM system would be too expensive and time-consuming.

concile, based in Freiburg, Germany, specializes in diagnostic solutions for various medical fields, including cancer detection, hormone diagnostics, and infection diagnostics. They offer innovative products and services that enhance patient care through rapid and accurate diagnostics.

Solution

We proposed and implemented a proof of concept for a new CRM system based on a model-driven app and Dataverse database within just two weeks. The efficiency and capabilities of Power Platform technologies impressed the customer, leading them to migrate and extend all functionalities of the old FileMaker app. The new CRM system enabled employees to use their Microsoft 365 accounts, eliminating the need for VPN access. Additionally, the app was optimised for tablet and smartphone use, facilitating data entry for field sales staff.


We also implemented a data import and synchronisation process between the existing ERP system and the new CRM system, ensuring data consistency across all business applications. This integration streamlined sales processes, reduced duplicate data entry, and provided a unified view of customer information.

Outcome

The new CRM system significantly enhanced concile's sales and after-sales support processes. Employees experienced improved productivity and ease of use, no longer needing VPN access to manage customer data. The mobile-friendly design of the app empowered field sales staff with convenient data entry capabilities. The integration with the ERP system ensured consistent and accurate data across all business applications. Overall, the project demonstrated the power and efficiency of Power Platform, delivering a modern, scalable solution that exceeded the customer's expectations and facilitated their business operations.
